What is ADOHTA?
The Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists' Association is the peak national body representing dental therapists and oral health therapists. The ADOHTA Council consists of representatives from each state and territory Dental (and Oral Health) Therapists' Association. The ADOHTA provides leadership, mentoring, support and advice to practicing and prospective dental and oral health therapists as well as oral health policy recommendations to governments and communities. What is a Dental or Oral Health Therapist?
Dental and Oral Health Therapists are highly valued members of the dental team. They provide high quality oral health care for children, adolescents and in some states young adults including examinaton, treatment and prevention. Oral Health Therapists possess qualifications in dental therapy and dental hygiene. Dental and Oral Health Therapists have a strong preventive focus and are strongly committed to fostering positive attitudes to oral health.

Healthy Mouth = Healthy Life. Your Oral Health can affect both physical and emotional well-being as it impacts on diet and nutrition, speech, appearance and personal relationships. Stop the Rot!! National community, dental and health organisations have today launched a national campaign, calling on political leaders to make an election commitment for urgent action to address the decaying state of Australia’s dental care system.
