Get your oral health promotion skills in shape for Dental Health Week 2020

Dental Health Week, which takes places from 3rd to 9th August this year, is fast approaching.  The theme this year is “How much sugar is hiding in your trolley?”, which aims to show the average Australian just how much hidden sugar is lurking in the processed food they eat, how it affects their oral and general health, and how they can eat sugar responsibly.  As part of this promotional effort, which aims to make Australians far more “sugar savvy”, Dental Health Week will also be driving the following four points home:

  • Brush twice a day with a toothpaste that contains fluoride.
  • Clean in between teeth at least once a day with floss or an interdental brush.
  • Eat a nutritious diet and limit sugar intake.
  • Regularly visit the dentist for check-ups and preventive treatment.
