Stainless Steel Crowns as a Restorative Solution

This hands-on workshop for dental professionals is a comprehensive educational program designed to provide hands-on training in the use of stainless steel crowns as a restorative solution for decayed or damaged primary molars. This workshop covers the indications for use, placement technique, and tips for optimal fit and longevity with a focus on hands-on demonstrations, and interactive discussions. Attendees will leave with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively place stainless steel crowns in their clinical practice.

Equipment Requirements

  • Participants are required to bring their own safety glasses or loupes.
  • Enclosed footwear and appropriate clinical wear is required.
  • Materials and instruments will be provided.

Catering

  • Morning tea will be provided.

Presenters

Libby Warlow

Oral Health Therapist

Oral Health Clinical Director & Lecturer

Central Queensland University

Libby graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Oral Health). Libby then worked in her role as an Oral Health Therapist for both Victoria Health in Melbourne and a private city clinic before relocating to Sydney.

In Sydney Libby was employed for many years at a private Sydney city practice. Libby completed the Advanced periodontal instrumentation course through the University of Sydney before moving again to the country.

Libby was employed at Charles Sturt University from 2009 – 2020 in an academic and clinical role. Libby completed her Master of Education through CSU and her Grad Cert in Oral Health Science at University of Adelaide.

In early 2020, Libby relocated to Rockhampton where she is currently the Central Queensland University Oral Health Clinical Director and academic.

Sonia King

Dental Therapist

Clinical Supervisor

Central Queensland University

Sonia is a Dental Therapist graduating from Yeronga School of Dental Therapy in 1993. On Graduation she took up a position in Central Queensland where she continues to work with Qld Health in the school service and community dental clinics. In 2015 she embraced the opportunity to become a clinical educator, supervising and teaching 2nd Year students in the simulation laboratory of the Bachelor of Oral Health Program offered at Central Queensland University (CQU). To compliment her 30yrs experience with children she completed a Grad Cert in Advanced Clinical Practice graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2021. Later that year her motivation for working with students found her supervising 2nd and 3rd Year students in both the simulation and clinical environments and utilising the extension of her scope in Qld Health run Community Dental Clinics.
