Learning Objectives

On completion of the session participants will be able to: 

  1. Describe the purposes and application of the current ADA Schedule of Dental Services and Glossary (the Schedule) in dental practices 
  2. List the various components of the Schedule
  3. Outline the importance of matching the treatments provided against the description of the respective item code
  4. Summarise how funding agencies are using the Schedule
  5. Describe common errors made by dental practitioners in using the Schedule

Presenters

Dr David Curnow

Dr David Curnow has a private general practice in Dandenong, Victoria. He has a long involvement in ADA activities at both state and federal level. Dr Curnow is a past President of the ADA Victorian Branch and a Branch Councillor. He has been involved in the Schedule and Third Party for more than 10 years, and currently serves as its chair.

Dr Amit Gurbuxani

Dr Amit Gurbuxani is a general dentist and the immediate past president of ADAWA. He is a serving member of the ADA Schedule and Third-party committee. Hi is passionate about helping the next generation of professionals and currently holds the position of a Senior Clinical Lecturer at UWA Dental School. He has completed his Masters in Dental Public and Primary Health and has been awarded his membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
