Oral Health Therapist

An Oral Health Therapist (OHT) is a registered independent dental practitioner who is trained, educated and competent in assessing, diagnosing, treating, managing and preventing oral disease. OHT's provide a range of preventive and restorative dental treatments, including fillings, tooth removal and periodontal treatment.  OHT's focus on promoting overall oral health, encourage healthy oral behaviours  and preventing oral diseases.

Dental Therapist

A Dental Therapist (DT) is a registered independent dental practitioner who is trained, educated and competent in assessing, diagnosing, treating, managing and preventing oral disease. A DT provides preventive and restorative dental care, including fillings and extractions. They often focus on providing care to children and adolescents as well as some adults.

Dental Hygienist

A Dental Hygienist (DH) is a registered independent dental practitioner who is trained, educated and competent in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education (to prevent oral disease) and promotion of healthy oral behaviours. DH's may focus on periodontal or gum treatments, preventative services and other oral care.
